This blog is the personal project of Carling Dulder and Chris Postill. They like art cards and this blog is where they document the art cards that pass through their collection.

What are art cards? In the simplist terms, art cards are anything that is approximately 3.5″ X 2″, is flat, and can be called a work of art. There are no rules in how to create an art card, many of ours are made on cutout cardboard from cracker boxes… We take this cardboard and then paint, glue, draw anything we like in order to make a portable, tradable piece of art that expresses some strange part of ourselves.

Many of our art cards we have made ourselves, however we try to uphold a rule here in our apartment that if anyone stops by to visit, they must create an art card. Once they’ve made one, we give them the choice of simply donating it to our collection, or swapping it for any card of their choosing. It’s often sad to see a card go, but that is part of the beauty of art cards, they aren’t meant for keeping, they are quicks bouts of inspiration that are best shared with others.

So that is the long and short of it, we collect scraps of cardboad sketches and magazine cutouts, and we document our collection here on this blog.
